Please use the FDACS link below to find a beekeeper.
The Treasure Coast Beekeepers Association is not a staffed organization, and all our officers are volunteers. We are a group of individuals interested in sharing information about honey bee management, promoting bee-friendliness, and educating our community about the importance of honey bees, native bees and other pollinators. The Treasure Coast Beekeepers Association DOES NOT do bee removals and no longer refers individuals for removals. The FDACS removal list will provide a complete list of state registered beekeepers who do removals in specific areas. Charges will vary by individual, so call everyone, until you find the right beekeeper for your situation. www.fdacs.gov/Consumer-Resources/Consumer-Rights-and-Responsibilities/Pest-Control/Honey-Bee-Removal-or-Eradication-in-Florida Bee Removals are more than free bees and gallons of honey. Beekeepers must purchase equipment (housing and furniture) for the bees, treat them for disease and pests (medical expenses), feed them (groceries) as most resources are lost during the removal process. There is also a chance that the bees will reject the new location and leave again. The beekeeper also invests their time in removals. These are some of the reasons why beekeepers charge for removals. |
